Oluwo to Host Artists For Fagunwa’s 60th Memorial Anniverssary

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu, will host Ìmọ́dòye Cultural Group, a cultural arm of Ìmòdòye Concepts which will be  performing the stage play of some clips of Àdììtú Òlódùmarè by DO Fágúnwà on Wednesday 7th December 2022 at the Ààfin Olódùmarè, the palace of the Olúwòó of Ìwó. 

This play will be performed to commemorate the 59th Anniversary of Chief DO Fágúnwà who died on 7th December 1963 as part of the events that would kick-start the 60th Memorial Anniversary of the departure of the late sage to eternity that would be coming up in 2023.

Chief DO Fágúnwà was a doyen of Yoruba literature and a foremost Yorùbá writer. He was an incorrigible moralist whose works are a highlight virtues and valour through surreal adventures;  his literary legacy endures all over the world till today. He was one of the hundred eminent personalities in the history of Nigeria honoured during the centenary celebrations of Nigeria in 2014.

The stage play shall be performed at the Ààfin Olódùmarè to  honour Kábíyèsí  Abdul Rasheed Adewale Àkànbí Telú, the Olúwòó of Ìwó Kingdom for his tenacity in seeing to the progress and development of his people.
