NUJ Press Week: PDP’s Oluyede to Deliver Keynote Lecture

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last Ekiti State governorship election, Dr. Wole Oluyede, will deliver the 2026 Annual Public Lecture of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council.
The lecture, themed “The Media as a Strong Catalyst for Improved Citizens’ Participation in the Electoral Process,” is scheduled to hold on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at the Sanni Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, starting at 11:00 a.m.

The announcement was contained in an official statement issued by the Chairman of the NUJ Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.
Highlights of the 2026 NUJ Press Week
According to Comrade Babatuyi, the public lecture serves as one of the major highlights of activities lined up for this year’s Press Week celebrations.
Other key events planned for the 2026 NUJ Press Week include:
- A novelty football match
- The traditional Iyan Day (Pounded Yam festival)
- Grand finale Dinner and Award Night

Live Broadcast and Invitation to Stakeholders
To ensure widespread reach, the NUJ Chairman disclosed that the lecture will be broadcast live across selected radio stations and digital streaming platforms. This will allow members of the public who cannot attend physically in Ado-Ekiti to follow and participate in the proceedings remotely.
Babatuyi extended an open invitation to members of the public, electoral stakeholders, media professionals, academics, and journalism students to attend and enrich the discourse.
