COVID 19: Ekiti Government Shuts Down Markets. We Must Comply in Our Interest -Waye Osho

The Governor of Ekiti State and chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi has directed that the three main markets in Ado Ekiti be shut down.

The three markets are; Oba’s market, Bisi market and Shasha market in Ado Ekiti metropolis.

This was made known in a press briefing by the Governor on the pandemic update ravaging the country and the entire world.

Fayemi was physically embittered and enraged over the latest update on the pandemic in Ekiti state which had a 29 year old pregnant woman believed to have sneaked in from Lagos to Ekiti last week due to the porous nature of the security arrangement in Ekiti boarders.

It would be recalled that the pregnant woman believed to be health worker in one of the hospitals in Ikorodu, Lagos State was at Oke Iyinmi Health center for delivery for three days and was referred to Ekiti State Teaching Hospital but chose a private hospital (Unique Hospital) at Dalimore, Ado Ekiti.

The said pregnant woman gave birth through a cesarean operation at the private hospital which was later referred to the Federal Medical College, Ido Ekiti where she was confirmed corona virus positive. This situation drew back the feet already recorded as at Friday last week in Ekiti as a zero corona virus free state having discharged three patients earlier to have tested negative after isolation.

Meanwhile, the Iyaloja of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Waye Osho has said that the closing down of the three main markets in Ado Ekiti by the Ekiti state government is a welcome development.

Osho in a telephone conversation with Fountain Newsbreaker said; “It is a welcome development and we have to obey and support the government in its efforts to make sure that the corona pandemic is chased out of Ekiti. You know, it is those people that are alive that have tomorrow”

She advised that everybody should buy and sell at the neighborhood so as to obey the government pending the time we will get out of the present situation.
