Ekiti LG Boss Seals off Borders Till Further Notice
The Chairman of Ekiti west Local Government, Hon Kareem Agunbiade on Saturday Sealed off the boundaries linking Ekiti State through Ekiti west Local Government.
This, according to him was in line with the directive of the Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi that all southwest Governors had agreed to close all their borders and impose restriction of interstate movement to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
Agunbiade who led the team of Ekiti west Local Government COVID-19 Task force to implement the order, urged law enforcement agents to adhere strictly to the implementation of the order.
The Chairman and other members of the task force which comprised of the Vice Chairman to the Local Government, Alhaja Motunrayo Adesina, Security Agents, Local Government Health Workers, Leader of the legislative arm of the Council and other members went round the borders to Ekiti State through Okemesi ekiti and Osun State boundaries.
Agunbiade in his statement, assured the people of Ekiti west local government of the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi in doing all in his capacity to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ekiti State. He also urged the people to support the government so that the disease will not spread across the state.
