It was a glorious and memorable birthday celebration for Mrs Seun Oguntayo, wife of former Tribune and Legit.ng Entertainment Editor, Femi Oguntayo yesterday as famous Nigerian artistes showered encomia on the American-based couple on the Social Media.
Among the many famous Nigerian artistes who took to social media to congratulate Seun, also a journalist are; Lekan Olatunji, Stan Nze, Damola Olatunji, Mide Martins, Kunle Afod, Michael Uba (Ogbolor), Taiwo ibikunle, Olamilekan Ayinla
Others are; Feranmi Oyalowo (Deolu Ariwo), Olamilekan Ayinla, Awololu Alebiosu, and Samson Oseni Aremu.
Speaking to Fountain Newsbreaker on why he gave his wife such a wonderful surprise, Femi said; “Yea, I surprised my wife because that was actually her first birthday since we left Nigeria and I was like, what can I do to make her happy? So I decided to contact my friends; big brothers and sisters in the Nollywood to send her goodwill messages and I won’t forget to add that she also got a surprise birthday call from Popular actor KUNLE AFOD that morning of her birthday.”
Going down the memory lane, the entertainment crooner in several national and international journals said, “I met my wife in Nigerian Tribune where we both worked as journalists and since we married a year ago, it has been multiple blessings for us. In short, all I can say is that Seun is my soulmate. Her yesterday’s birthday was so unique in that it coincided with her dad’s convocation at University of Ibadan where he bagged Masters of Science (Msc).”
Asked whether he paid those celebrities for the accolades showered on his wife, Femi said; “noooo! They are all my big brothers and sisters whose ways have crossed mine in the course of my journalism career both in Nigeria and America. They have always been there for me just I am for them in the entertainment industry. Even though they these are things they get paid to do but they did it for me FOC.
“Money is not everything. In all of this, I also thank my dad, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, who actually put me through in the entertainment industry because he was also an entertainment editor with Nigerian Tribune years back while I was growing up. My mum too, just like Seun’s mum, is a prayer warrior. So, you can see how blessed we are.”
Expressing her joy to Fountain Newsbreaker, Mrs Seun Oguntayo said, “I’m simply overwhelmed because I can’t imagine waking up on my birthday here in American only to be celebrated by Nigerian leading celebrities courtesy of my heartthrob. I’m really humbled and this will remain indelible in my memory.”
