Erinle

Hon Segun Erinle represented ileje-meje in the 4th EKITI
Assembly. He spoke with Fountain Newsbreaker during his host of friends &
associates at his thanksgiving service in his Ewu hometown recently. Excerpts:

Can You please introduce yourself to
those meeting you for the first time?
                Thanks
my name is Prince SegunErinle from Ewu Ekiti, l am a lawyer by profession. I am
a Royal Prince from the Awewe  Ruling
House of Ewu Ekiti

 When was your
happiest day in the House of Assembly?
My happiest day was the day l was sworn into office as l
created history being the first son of my town to win such election

When was your saddest
moment in the house?

The saddest day was the day l and my eighteen other
colleagues were prevented from entering the state house of assembly by Governor
Ayodele Fayose’s state agents

In what areas were you able to touch
lives while at the house of assembly?
While at the house my first priority was law making and to
God be thy glory, we passed a total of seventy five to seventy eight bills into
law to assist the Executive in making governance possible for our people.  On my part l promised my people that if
elected l would ensure our youths especially our students are adequately
prepared to face future challenges. I encouraged any student admitted to study
medicine or nursing by paying the tuition fees. I donated equipment to cater
for high blood pressure and diabetes in all our clinics at the local govt. I
paid for Jamb and NECO to all our students in secondary school. I organised an
annual lecture for our students in higher institutions, with prizes to winners
of our yearly essay writing. Those in trading were assisted with free interest
loans to assist in their business. I did my little with my wages.

Since you left of
office what have you been able to do for your community and the State at large?

Since l left office l have been sick but despite that l have
been able to address to the immediate problem of some of our people as you all
know the current economic problem in the Country, l give God all the glory of
having a second address which enables me to contribute my own little
contributions to our people.

What informed your
hosting of friends and associates on April 30, 2017?
Today the 30th I am thanking God that despite all odds l
survived my illnesses and since am trained to always give all glory and
adoration to God am calling all my people and the Apc family to rejoice with
me.

What’s your view on
the clamour for zoning in the forthcoming governorship election?
Zoning is not in our party’s constitution but in 2006, some
of us believed that we should be given the ticket in the North and l promised
those in the South that if we get the ticket and it’s your turn l will support
you people too hence as a man who keeps promise lam with the South on this but
let me say it all the aspirants from the South are my brothers and by the grace
of God the best from the South shall emerge.

What are your future
political plans?
My next political move is to seek the mandate of our party
and my people in Ekiti federal constituency 2 to represent them in the Federal
House of Representatives come 2019. As people know my politics is service to my
people and l will continue to do my best to them.
